The Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture is one of the most important awards of the Ministry of Culture. It is awarded to people for distinguished contribution in the field of artistic creation, cultural activity or the protection of culture and national heritage.
Prof. dr hab. Małgorzata Leyko deals with research on German-language theatre in the 19th-21st centuries, Jewish theatre in Poland, Polish-German theatre relations and theatre theories from the beginning of the 19th century. She is also distinguished by her organisational achievements. In the terms 2005-2008, and then 2012-2016 and 2016-2020, she was the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Lodz for Studies in the Fields of Journalism and Social Communication and Cultural Studies majors.
