Language Courses for the UniLodz Community – Registration Now Open

Would you like to develop your foreign language skills, prepare for a language examination or improve your academic or legal English? The Centre for Language and Certification of the University of Lodz invites UniLodz students, doctoral students, employees and applicants to doctoral schools to join its language courses. The offer includes both general language courses and specialist classes.

Language Courses for the UniLodz Students and Employees

The following courses are available:

  • English, German, French and Spanish,
  • at all levels from Starter/A1 to C1,
  • covering general language learning as well as preparation for language examinations, including TELC at all available proficiency levels.

Classes are conducted in groups of 10–15 participants, once or twice a week. The courses comprise 30 or 60 teaching hours per semester.

English for Researchers, Doctoral Students and Applicants to Doctoral Schools

Courses in English at B2/C1 and C1 levels have been prepared for researchers, doctoral students and applicants to doctoral schools.

The classes may be held on-site or online via MS Teams. The programme includes general English as well as elements related to presenting research results and writing academic papers.

Legal English and TOLES Preparation

The offer also includes a Legal English course preparing participants for the Tests of Legal English Skills (TOLES) examination.

The classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. on the MS Teams platform. The course covers, among other things, specialist legal vocabulary, the language of contracts and terminology used in court and business documents.

The TOLES course comprises 72 teaching hours.

Examinations and Certificates

Course participants may take TOLES and TELC examinations.
The next university TELC examination session is planned for January 2027
