Master agreement
ŁKS Commercecon Łódź is one of the most successful volleyball clubs in Poland. The Łódź volleyball team is the current Polish vice-champion, three-time champion and a three-time winner of the Polish Cup. The club and faculty have signed an agreement that will enable students to complete internships and traineeships under the supervision of media managers from the sports industry. This is an interesting option for those who are not only interested in sports and journalism but also possess excellent foreign language skills. ŁKS Commercecon Łódź volleyball players represent Poland in international competitions (they play in the Women's Champions League), and the team includes players from countries such as Brazil, Canada and Georgia.
I believe that external relations of the Faculty of Philology are crucial, as it's good to raise awareness that what we do here also serves the needs of society. This means that we not only work academically but also educate students who will later join various professional groups. We offer the Łódź Sports Club numerous opportunities for assistance in various areas, including language, promotional, marketing and journalism fields
– said Prof. dr hab. Rafał Zarębski, Dean of the UniLodz Faculty of Philology.
The club’s coach and managing director, Adrian Chyliński, spoke about the need for such cooperation and its benefits for both parties.
This is very important for us, because as a sports club with good results, we have an important social mission that we want to fulfil here at the university and at schools. We strive to promote this sport. This also gives us unlimited opportunities for you, because with us you can put into practice what you learn during your studies
– underlined the representative of ŁKS Commercecon Łódź.
Sports journalism in practice
The first results of this cooperation have already emerged today. After the agreement was signed, the students met with the team captain Anna Obiała and the volleyball coach. During the meeting they could listen to a conversation moderated by Dr Przemysław Szews. Afterward, they had an opportunity to ask questions themselves and test their skills as sports journalists.

We encourage all those interested in completing an internship or traineeship at ŁKS volleyball to contact Dr Przemysław Szews from the Department of Journalism and Social Communication, University of Lodz, who will coordinate contacts between the faculty and club representatives.
