The main objective of the activities carried out at the Faculty of Chemistry is to strive for excellence in both research and education. The Faculty currently employs 128 people, approximately 100 of whom are involved in scientific research.
These activities are conducted within six departments, where research covers organic, organometallic, inorganic, analytical, physical and environmental chemistry, as well as technology and advanced materials. External funding plays a significant role in supporting both research and education at the Faculty. At present, fourteen research projects and four educational projects are being implemented with external funding.

The Faculty of Chemistry cooperates with numerous research institutions in Poland and abroad, carrying out joint initiatives such as research grants, symposia and workshops. As a result, many publications by Faculty researchers are co-authored and interdisciplinary in nature. An example of cooperation with the business sector is provided by the joint initiatives of the Faculty of Chemistry and its Business Council. These include student internships, lectures and industrial PhD programmes.
At the Faculty of Chemistry, doctoral dissertations are prepared by students enrolled in doctoral studies as well as in two doctoral schools: the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences and BioMedChem.
One of the distinguishing features of our educational activities is the continuously expanding range of study programmes, which enables us to adapt the competences and skills of our graduates to the needs of a rapidly changing labour market. One example is the dual-study programme “Chemistry of Cosmetics and Pharmaceuticals with Elements of Business”, which enables students to acquire both practical laboratory skills and knowledge in the field of management.
First-, second- and third-cycle students can participate in mobility programmes offered by our Faculty, including Erasmus+ and CEEPUS. These programmes enable students to broaden their horizons by studying or completing internships at research institutions abroad.
